Google Cloud Program

Within the last month Google has released a new program to help businesses move to the cloud. This new program is called the Google Could Partner Program. It uses the cloud to host products abnd services such as the Google App Engine and Google Compute engine.

The Google Cloud Platform Partner Program allows many businesses to use the same technology and service to work with the giant search engine to provide services and extend the clouds functionality of its products.

The partners to this program provide consulting and implementation of services for the Google Cloud products. These include the Google App Engine, Google Compute Engine, Google Cloud Storage, and BigQuery. Businesses gain from their knowledge to develop these applications.

Eric Morse, head of sales and business development for the Google Cloud platform has said “Cloud is core to everything we do here at Google,”. “In the last decade, we’ve invested in building an infrastructure that can serve 4 billion hours of video every month, support 425 million Gmail users and store 100 petabytes of Web index, and its growing every day. We’ve taken this technology and extended it via Google Cloud Platform so that you can benefit from the same infrastructure that powers Google’s applications.”

This program has two different types of partners. Service partners, the first type, give consulting and implementation services for different cloud products. Users can use their knowledge and expertise to do things such as develop applications. The second type of partner in the cloud platform is a technology partner. These partners provide tools that integrate Google’s platform with one of the services to use as a foundation for their products.

This technology has been around for a while as google has been growing. Now that it is available for the business sector it will be interesting to see where the use of this cloud technology will be or become in the next 10 years.
