Despite how far technology has moved in the last few years, event planning is still a very hands on job. You still need to make contact every step of the way and ensure everything is booked and confirmed. Even if there is no quick fix using technology there is still a great wealth of help to be found using technology. Here are 4 tips to get a little more out of your event and to let technology take the load off a little from Aspect LTD who have expertise in putting together business and corporate events.
Use iPhones and other Smartphones to your advantage. You can set up e-ticket systems that make ticket loss a thing of the past. Guests love having tickets in their phone and knowing they can have an e-mail that can be scanned and they don’t need to print out tickets. Another great idea to have a downloadable mobile phone map of the venue and where each talk is happening and what is being shown at each stand. If you can make it interactive thats even better.
Web calendars. Calenders sync across all devices these days, that means if you update the event on the Internet it will sync to users phones, tablets, e-mail and so on. These can be set up for free if you use Google Calenders People can also mark their attendance on the event for you to get a nice guide on attendance numbers.
You can use free websites that track mentions across the web. You type in your brand or search term and it will bring up people who are talking about it across the web on social media. They also track the way in which you are being mentioned. It checks if you are being mentioned in a positive or negative way. Socialmention.com is a great one that offers this service for free. Its not perfect but its great for the price.
Set up a hash tag for your event. These are the things on Twitter with the # symbol next to them. For example #eventname or #eventinitials are a great starting point for a unique hashtag to use. These will allow you to see who is talking about your brand. If you can get them to tweet at you too using the @ symbol thats also a great bonus.
