The progress in this area of science and technology is exponential. It took man a century to turn the traditional landline phones to mobile phones and yet only decades to turn normal mobile phones into smart phones. Though most people have smart phones these days, especially in the developed parts of the world, they too are being replaced by better ones. Conventional keypad turned into touch screen, and the same way, traditional chargers with long wires turned into wireless chargers. Most people complained about how irritating it had been for them to charge their smart phones every now and then but Nokia has finally solved this problem!
Nokia has now launched a unique smart phone that can be charged without the aid of wires! Its recent smart phone, Nokia Lumia 920 has a built-in technology in itself that would allow it to get charged without wires. This technology is known as Qi (pronunciation: chee) allows you to put your smart phone on any charger (that is compatible with it) whenever a boosting in power is needed. This is designed in co-operation with the co founder, ConvenientPowder, of Wireless Power Consortium; Energizer uncovered the very first generation of these Qi Inductive chargers in the year 2010.
Now a collection of service providers, carriers and various other companies are working hard to use this same technology for charging any device that is supported, regardless of the place at which you are, are supporting the Qi standard. It is now possible to charge any mobile phone, especially Nokia Lumia 920, via Qi; provided that it has the required built-in technology. It is also possible to charge Nokia Lumbia 820 via Qi charger but some wireless charging shell is required for it.
Nokia has also signed deals with the famous coffee chain known as Coffee Bean as well as Tea Leaf and Virgin Atlantic that it would set up a wireless charging stations in the lounges of airports. Right now, Nokia is also trying to set up plans with other companies in order to offer wireless charging accessories for home use and it could include a very well designed charging dock as well.
But the value of Lumia 920 does not come from the ability to wirelessly charge only. This innovative smartphone also has a Retina-quality display and a camera that can challenge (if not exceed) the iPhone’s of Apple. It is solidly built, with a responsive touchscreen and a quick browser. Sure, it’s a little heavy, and the Windows Marketplace is still relatively barren of quality apps compared with the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Overall, however, you’d have to say it is at least competitive with other flagship smartphones, in terms of hardware.
Wireless charging of Nokia phone can be a great benefit for all those who cannot afford to sit and wait for the phone to be charged. Now you can roam around wherever you want without worrying about low battery!
